FAQ

How does CampComputer work?

Through Google Classroom, we host video call sessions where we tutor students on core subjects and instruct them on extracurricular activities. We provide the materials for classes and split students up into groups so that our volunteers can provide more detailed attention. There are a limited amount of spots available so that our volunteer tutors/instructors can provide close attention to students' work. Spots are applied for through the application form, and are selected by lottery.

What topics can my child get help with?

CampComputer assists students in math, science, art, and english. Additionally, we have added topics such as social emotional and health, which deal with expression, staying active, and keeping healthy.

How do I sign up?

To sign up, you can go to the ‘apply’ section on our website and fill out the form as listed. Alternatively you can follow this link which would directly lead you to the application form: bit.ly/CampComputer

How do students meet?

Students will meet at a scheduled time on Google Meet. Once a part of CampComputer, students will be added to the Google Classroom and will be provided a new link to join the session.

How many spots are there for students?

Currently, there are 20 spots available. This number may change (up to 25 students) dependent on our resources and the responses we receive.

Who are your volunteers? Is this safe?

Our volunteers are a small group of college and high school students. We are qualified to tutor students in core subjects that we’ve studied and facilitate workshops related to our collective interests.
CampComputer is completely safe due to the virtual nature of the program. We welcome parents to join in on sessions with our classes. If you have any questions regarding our volunteers, please feel free to email us at campcomputerprogram@gmail.com or use our contact page.

Will CampComputer be available for future sessions?

For Fall 2020, we are considering weekend sessions for students and virtual tutoring. Please check back in September for more information!
